The scouts speed is incrediabally very fast , so just leg it.

The scouts can uncover spies or disarm detpacks by touching them; can concussion-grenade jump which is very helpful for getting ahead quickly.
offensive tips!
Want to be sent flying all the way to the other base? (great way to get a jump start on the early capture while the enemy defenses are still weak).
-Get a teammate sniper to pop you with a fully-charged head-shot while you jump up and down in front of him.
-Don't engage the enemy -- the scout is made for flag running only. That doesn't necessarily mean that the scout is the best flag-runner in all situations. Some say that the medic is usually a better flag-runner than the scout.
-Drop caltrops (especially around corners) to discourage pursuers.
-Throw concussion grenades to confuse defenders, but be sure to hold the grenade long enough to make the grenade go off soon after throwing (which makes it harder to dodge). Also try to aim for groups of defenders, or the most dangerous defenders.
-Dont you worry about sentries, Scouts can often just run past sentries and live -- especially when the engineer is working on it.
-If a flag-grab seems impossible, hide and call for backup. Your speed will let you stay alive a long time even in an enemy base. Once help arrives, grab the flag in the confusion (or help cause confusion).
defensive tips!
Ok well the scout wouldnt usually be the best guy for defending, but if you want a scout to defend, well then do this.
-Toss caltrops all over the main entries to your base when you know the enemy is attacking (or escaping with the flag) -- it will slow them down and may even kill someone.
-Concussion grenades work well for the same purpose if held long enough to go off too soon to be dodged by the enemy.
-If you Touch everyone in your base that you come near when travelling in and around your base, you will be able to uncover spies by just touching them.
-If you hear the whine of an enemy detpack, find it and touch it -- you'll disarm it when you do.
