TFC Pyro strategy guide.
You may not know, Heat splash damage from the incendiary cannon can go through walls.
Although he looks pretty weak, the pyro can take down a HWGuy with minimal damage by circle-strafing while laying down a little heat with the flamethrower. Many HWGuys think they're invincible so they will attack without moving, and of course firing the assault cannon causes a HWGuy to move and turn more slowly (a crawl, really). If you're moving, a HWGuy will have a hard time hitting you, especially if he's on fire.

Lucky for the pyro, hes flameproof, so sod other pyro's.
offensive tips!
-Ignore your (and others') flames, you're flameproof, so just walk on through.
More fire (flamethrower, napalm, incendiary cannon) kills faster, so keep pouring it on (resist the temptation to stop and just watch them burn).
defensive tips!
Be quick and play early defense (near the common areas) and lay flaming death all about as enemy assaults get near.
Toss a napalm grenade and keep the flames hot with incendiary cannon shells to block a critical (flag access, for example) area for an extended period of time.
